David Miller, President of the Conservative Mennonite Board of Missions and Charities, writes to Winter asking if he will present at their annual meeting the following year. One day is dedicated to various aspects of the mission of the church. Attendees at the public sessions are entire families in addition to church leaders and delegates. Later, Winter did accept this invitation to speak.
