Volunteer Opportunities

Internships
We offer several different volunteer, credit-earning internship programs. Options are available for students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Some internships are tailored to students getting a degree in library science. Others are geared toward students who are in fields like history, sociology, or anthropology who want to get some hands-on experience with handling data.
In person and offsite internships are available. So if you’re not in Southern California, but you are a self-starter who really enjoys scanning documents, transcribing interviews, or cleaning up databases, we’d love to hear from you.

Community Volunteers
From the beginning, the Research Center has relied on the consistent efforts of a small army of volunteers. And they are still needed to keep the Center moving forward. If you are local to Southern California and can help us with cataloging new books into the library or with scanning documents, we would greatly appreciate your assistance. We also sometimes find ourselves in need of an editor for blog posts, advertising copy, or for article and books that need publishing.
